FAQ H-Index

Q:   What is the H-Index

A: The H-Index is one tool for determining relative quality of an author's work by measurement of an author's most cited publications. The H-Index was developed by Dr. Jorge Hirsch and is described in an article published in 2005.

Q:   How do I find the H-Index for my publications?

A: Start from the library website and link to Web of Science.

  • Search for author's name. Ex:  Smith JB
  • When results appear, link to the "create citation report" on the right side of the screen.
  • The H-index will appear with the Citation Report, on the right side of the screen.
